Over the past few weeks the COVID-19 virus has deeply impacted the people of China. The situation is one of the greatest challenges the country has faced.

In the face of uncertainty and loss brought on by the outbreak, we at SAP have an even higher responsibility to China and all her people.

Let me emphasize to our employees, customers, and partners…we are with you and we stand beside you. Our thoughts are with you every day.

China has so much to be proud of in tackling this outbreak. Like building a 1,000 bed hospital in just 10 days. The speed and sheer power of the response has been absolutely remarkable. And we all have noticed.

To all health and medical heroes working on the frontlines, you have our deepest admiration and respect.

As an initial response, SAP immediately arranged a cash donation to the Hubei Charity Federation in support of five hospitals at the epicenter of the outbreak in Wuhan. We hope this contribution can help bring much-needed supplies to where they are most needed. We are also working on additional donation to continue support Hubei province.

Beyond that, we are mobilizing our workforce, leveraging our digital tools and global best practices to support the government in its fight to contain the outbreak. The government can depend on our support to help monitor and analyze data to provide the highest levels of public safety as possible.

We are always focused on the success of our customers, and I want to express my heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to the 6,000 SAP China employees and their incredible passion and dedication in the face of this challenge.

Our SAP China employees are rising to the task and showing all of us what strength really looks like. It doesn't matter whether they support customers or connecting with other SAP colleagues in China and around the world.

Our teams are closely monitoring the situation and we have taken steps to ensure the safety of employees as we prepare for this frightening period to slowly come to an end.

When that time comes, I am certain that China, and our employees, customers and partners across the country, will emerge stronger than ever before. We have confidence in the positive medium- and long-term economic outlook for China and will maintain our commitment to supporting the China market.

We live in a global world that has a shared future. Together, we will win this battle against the COVID-19 virus.

From me and everyone at SAP, stay strong, keep well, and know that our thoughts are with you every day.
