The Fuyang Economic and Technological Development Zone was established in 1992 and was among the first batch of Zhejiang's provincial development zones in 1993. In October 2012, it was approved by the State Council to be a national-level development zone.
The zone directly governs the five new areas of Yinhu, Dongzhou, Changkou, Xindeng and Jinqiao, with a planned area of 106.04 square kilometers.
Taking digital economy as the lead, new manufacturing as the base, and modern services as support, the Fuyang ETDZ has built three distinctive industrial chains of network communication, intelligent equipment, and biomedicine, represented by 5G, life science, digital retail, digital security, and robots.
By the end of 2020, the zone had introduced 441 industrial enterprises above a designated size, including five listed companies, two companies with an annual output value of over 10 billion yuan ($1.48 billion) and 15 companies with annual output of over 1 billion yuan.
Companies registered here include security industry leader Dahua Technology Co Ltd, e-commerce giant JD, China's leading API manufacturer Hisun Pharmaceutical Co Ltd, and a number of high-growth innovative companies such as Guozi Robotics and Tuners Electronics.
