Ningbo Economic and Technological Development Zone (NETDZ) was established in Ningbo city, Zhejiang province, in 1984, as one of the first batch of national development zones approved by the State Council.The zone has benefited greatly from the regional advantages endowed by the Yangzte River Delta, the most economically and socially advanced area in China. It offers foreign businesses a free gate to enter China's investment market.NETDZ is only 40 kilometers from Ningbo Lishe Airport, 150 kilometers from Hangzhou Xiaoshan Airport, 230 kilometers from Shanghai Hongqiao Airport and 250 kilometers from Shanghai Pudong Airport.Backed by Beilun Port, one of the most important ports in Ningbo, the zone is considered an important part of the shipping center in northeastern Asia, as well as a major manufacturing base in eastern China.NETDZ has formed an industrial cluster centered on automobiles, equipment manufacturing, petrochemicals, steel and energy.
