The World Intelligence Congress is usually held annually in Tianjin in May or June. It is jointly organized by the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Cyberspace Administration of China, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and the People's Government of Tianjin municipality.

As the world's first large-scale high-end platform for exchanges in the field of intelligence, this congress aims to create a world-class platform for showcasing intelligent technological achievements, fostering innovation and cooperation, facilitating industry clustering, and promoting investment and financing.

It also promotes exchanges between China and the world in the field of intelligence, gathers elements for the global intelligent technology industry, and showcases the latest achievements in cutting-edge technology.

The first World Intelligence Congress was held in Tianjin on June 29-30, 2017. The congress invited representatives and experts from renowned domestic and foreign research institutions and leading companies to discuss the development trends of intelligent technology, share achievements in industrial innovation and cooperation, and plan for the application prospects in the economy and society.

The 7th World Intelligence Congress kicked off in Tianjin on May 18, 2023. With the theme "Intelligence: Extensive Development Space, Sustainable Growth Driver", the 4-day event was committed to providing a multidimensional platform for high-end academic exchanges, exhibitions, open innovation, deepened cooperation, and industrial promotion on a global scale.

During the congress, a series of activities, such as project signing, parallel forums, intelligent technology exhibitions, competitions, and intelligent experiences, was held.

Nearly 500 Fortune Global 500 companies and Chinese Fortune 500 companies, and well-known technology enterprises participated, cementing it as an international event that gathers innovative resources, leads industrial development, and provides better intelligent experiences.

It is reported that this year's World Intelligence Congress was the largest in terms of scale and quality. Covering an exhibition area of 120,000 square meters, the intelligent technology exhibition consisted of 10 exhibition areas including artificial intelligence (AI) and 5G+ industrial internet, as well as two smart intelligent experience areas for 5G and intelligent connected vehicles.

The participants believe that we should seize the new opportunities in global AI development, respect the laws of scientific and technological innovation and AI development, enhance the research and development of AI basic theories and cutting-edge technologies, establish AI regional hubs and foundational platforms, promote the integration of industry, academia, research, and application, and drive economic and social development through the empowerment of AI.
