Among all the creatures on Earth, human being is definitely superior. Writing a few lines or words about myself to introduce, I feel myself to be a tiny part of this entire world that is filled with human beings. I myself am humble, kind, caring and courageous. I like to consider myself a responsible human being. Though, it is quite hard to write about me, I will try my best to express about myself.
My name is H.L.L.Nishak Jayaweera and I was born in the Southern Province. I am the first member of my family. I have only one sister, both my parents have passed away my mother was a victim of the tsunami and my father passed away in 2018. I was very young when I lost my mother but I faced all the problems with courage and determination. I completed my higher education in May 2009. My first job which I found through a friend of mine was the turning point in my life I am so proud and honor to work in this prestigious company. I have been working as an Assistant Human resource manager for more than ten years now.
The company i am working is AVIC-ENG Company which was established in Sri Lanka in the year 2009. And since then this company has been working closely with the Government for development activities in Sri Lanka. And is a leader in leading road and development projects and construction in Sri Lanka
Priority Road Development Project was launched under the Development Bank of China in June 2011.it was more than 900 km long and was named PRP 1 PRP2 and PRP 3.
I first started working for the company at the company’s main project office in Hambantota.Our Company was tasked with developing several major roads in the area, which were named PRP 1 and 2.
In addition to the Hambantota District and the Southern Province, we also carried out several projects in the Mahiyanganaya area.
These projects spanned the provinces of Sri Lanka. Each of these projects ware created by us at the time with future plan to integrate with the existing highway system.
Each of these projects created more than a thousand special employment opportunities for the people of Sri Lanka. And the people living in the area and the Sri Lankan companies engaged in small and medium enterprises.
These jobs enabled a very good economic development in the Sri Lankan society.
The Government of Sri Lanka, the Ministry of Highways and the Highways Development Authority have assisted us in these projects.
These projects have directly contributed to the development of all parts of the country from the South to the North and from the North to the East and to the employment of those people.
Not only jobs were provided by our company but also the entertainment and capabilities of the employees working in our company were given a lot of consideration priority.
In order to enhance the reciprocity of the company, the company organized sports and other competitions within the company to enhance the bond between the employees within the company.
Our company entrusted me with the task of designing and organizing the Games. And the Chinese brothers and sisters who work in our company assisted me in the same way.
The games consisted of a hundred and two hundred meters of men's and women's cricket, badminton, table tennis, netball and tug-of-war, and basketball.
The first, second and third places for each winner and team was awarded trophies and cash prizes respectively.
The awards were made to further encourage our employees.
Our company is committed to assist the needs of donations not only of the employees of the Company but also of the underprivileged people in the Sri Lankan community.
For example, the provision of educational equipment, books, computers, etc. to orphanages in Colombo and outside Colombo is a humanitarian activity carried out by our organization every year.
In the face of the global epidemic, we also had to deal with the need to provide hospital beds and face masks for government and essential services.
We provided masks and financial assistance to the government and essential services
All these examples provided indicate that we are not only just doing our projects but we are also engage in all humanitarian activities.
As the Assistant Human Resource Manager of this company, I appreciate all the job opportunities & all the facilities that company has provided and is still providing for us.
I am ever so grateful for everything the company has given me to done for my personal growth & all so for my motherland. It’s a pleasure to work in such an environment where we are given the freedom to do our work peacefully. I would definitely do my best within my work environment for the success of the company.
I am confident that I will be able to apply the wealth of experience I and my life and my professionalism have gained from working in this company for over ten years to move this company forward.
