The 47th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair 2023 (DITF) concluded with success on July 13.
The Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair in Tanzania is the largest comprehensive exhibition in the country with influence across Africa. It is also known as the SABASABA exhibition due to its simultaneous occurrence with a local traditional festival of that name.
The event attracted over 3,500 exhibitors from 17 countries and welcomed more than 300,000 visitors each day.
Weihai Huatan Supply Chain Management Co Ltd, based in Shandong province, has been deeply involved in Tanzania for over a decade, and has played a crucial role in promoting Made-in-China products into Africa.
This year marks the third consecutive year that the company has hosted the exhibition, and it has organized more than 160 Shandong companies to participate in events in Tanzania since 2021.
The China pavilion, one of the most popular pavilions of the fair, covered an area of 1,250 square meters, showcasing products from more than ten fields, including agricultural machinery, construction hardware, transportation equipment, automobiles and motorcycle parts. All these products are originally produced in Shandong province.
During the fair, over 100 Chinese exhibitors achieved on-site transactions exceeding 1.2 million US dollars, with intended transactions reaching 9 million US dollars, new records for both the number of exhibitors and transactions. Eight Weihai companies participated in the event.
China has been Tanzania's largest trading partner for seven consecutive years under the Belt and Road Initiative.
In recent years, Wendeng district of Weihai city has focused on serving import and export enterprises, optimizing the business environment, and encouraging companies to expand their international markets, which promotes international economic and trade exchanges and cooperation.
