Chenggong district in Kunming has actively explored and promoted the new development of the Baozhu pear industry, adding new vitality to rural vitalization.
With a planting history of over 900 years, Baozhu pears in Chenggong were awarded the National Geographic Indication Agricultural Product in 2013.
In recent years, Chenggong has made continuous efforts in Baozhu pear planting, production and processing, brand building and cultural inheritance, making Baozhu pears one of the important urban business cards of the district.

It has explored the development of derivative products, actively researching and developing deep-processed products such as Baozhu pear paste, dried pears, pear vinegar and pear wine, exploring new developments in the Baozhu pear industry.Chenggong has been continuously increasing the brand recognition of Baozhu pears. On Sep 21, it conducted a promotion and tasting event in Shanghai, with over 50,000 kilograms ordered on the first day of the promotion.
Chenggong promotes the integrated development of agriculture, culture, and tourism by creating a special commercial street for Baozhu pears and organizing cultural and sports activities such as the Wanxi Market and cycling races.

Furthermore, Chenggong enhances the cultural tourism brand influence of Baozhu pears by holding events like the Pear Blossom Festival and Pick-Your-Own Festival.
While developing the Baozhu pear industry, Chenggong has also intensified its efforts to protect this resource. It has formulated protection measures that took effect on Jan 1. Additionally, the district initiated a census and registration program for Baozhu pear trees on Feb 1, registering and monitoring every ancient pear tree in detail to provide a scientific basis for future protection and development efforts.
