The 7th China (Ordos) International Cashmere and Wool Exhibition will kick off on July 19-21 in Dongsheng district, Ordos, North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, with the tagline "Cashmere Capital of the World, Winning Future by Quality," according to a press conference held in Beijing on May 30.

Adhering to the idea of "dedicated to serving as a tie for cashmere and wool enterprises, and building a bridge for promoting the high-quality development of the industry", this year's exhibition has an area of over 20,000 square meters, and will feature six exhibition areas – respectively displaying raw materials, fabric and yarn, end products, Silk Road international cooperation, equipment and technology, and supporting industries, three centers, and 242 booths. It is set to serve as a stage for a great many enterprises to showcase their new technologies, products and services. The event will be divided into four sections, namely a main exhibition, an opening ceremony, supporting activities and a cashmere fashion show.

The exhibition will highlight innovations in four areas: content of opening ceremony, participating enterprises, forms of exhibition, and layout of exhibition areas.

The academy and the sub-council of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade will collaborate to compile the "Ordos City Building a World-Class Cashmere Industry Promotion Report." As a significant outcome of this exhibition, the report will be publicly released at the opening ceremony.

To build up a diversified international economic and trade communication platform, various guests will be invited, including more than 10 international exhibitors from Italy, France, Russia, Mongolia, Australia and more, over 300 renowned buyers from home and abroad, and more than 200 high-quality domestic enterprises involved in processing, sales and other processes related to the cashmere and wool industries. Such an endeavor is also aimed at promoting trade among regional industries and the import and export of cashmere and wool products, as well as gathering choice resources of global cashmere and wool industries.

Elites of the two industries, experts and scholars, fashion icons, renowned designers, media professionals, and personnel from enterprises in relevant industries will participate in the event to discuss new ideas for the high quality development of the cashmere and wool industries, thereby further complementing the industrial chain and enhancing global competitiveness.

In addition, five special working groups focusing on catering, accommodation, transportation, travel, and shopping will be organized to comprehensively improve reception services and satisfy all parties.

As six sessions have been held successively, this exhibition has already emerged as a world-class Ordos style brand with Chinese characteristics. Over the years, it has won several honorary titles, including China's most influential exhibition brand for the year 2019 and excellent award of China's exhibition brand for the year 2020.

The exhibition has an accumulated exhibition area of over 130,000 square meters, invited over 1,500 enterprises and more than 2,100 international and domestic buyers, and saw over 400,000 buyers and a total of 3.5 billion yuan ($483 million) in transactions. The exhibition is crucial to Ordos' efforts to build a world-class cashmere industry and transform from the "cashmere capital of China" into the "cashmere capital of the world".
