The 15th World Economic Forum Annual Meeting of the New Champions (2024 Summer Davos) is set to take place at the Dalian International Conference Center from June 25 to 27. This marks the forum’s eighth collaboration with Dalian, after a five-year hiatus.

Over 1,500 guests from the political, business, social, and international sectors will convene in Dalian to discuss the main theme "New Frontiers for Growth" and six pillar topics through 200 sub-forums.

In the previous 2019 Summer Davos held in Dalian, 2,066 delegates from 101 countries and regions participated, with nearly 70 percent being international guests and close to 60 percent being business leaders. Once again, Dalian will distinctly hear the world’s voice, perceive global economic trends, and showcase its charm to the world.

Amid global economic recovery and a general slowdown in inflation, rapid advances in technology are driving various industries. The 2024 Summer Davos will concentrate on unlocking "New Frontiers for Growth" through effective collaboration.

With its international influence, the forum continues to spotlight Dalian on the global stage, showcasing the city's vitality, development landscape, and cultural heritage.

On March 12, the 5A-grade international office building, Exchange Square, officially opened in Dalian. Developed with investment from the Orix Corporation, Japan's largest comprehensive financial services group, the plaza not only stands as a new landmark in Donggang Business District but also connects the group's global resources.

Close to the Exchange Square stands another landmark, the Dalian International Conference Center, the venue for the Summer Davos. It was at the 2009 Summer Davos that ORIX, the first multinational financial group to establish its China headquarters in Dalian, forged a lasting connection with the city.

Through the Summer Davos, economic entities, such as Fortune 500 companies and emerging enterprises, gain a deeper understanding of Dalian, providing the city with more opportunities to participate in international economic development and integrate its industries into the global industrial chain, continually enhancing Dalian's international visibility and influence.

During the 2019 Summer Davos, Dalian organized significant domestic and foreign investment project signing ceremonies, propelling the signing of 16 key projects in fields such as information technology, biopharmaceuticals, intelligent equipment, and cultural creativity.

A growing number of local enterprises in Dalian are showcasing their capabilities, learning from global peers, and fostering cooperation, while more citizens choose to broaden their horizons. Through these close interactions, the Summer Davos enhances the city's openness.
