Eight entities in the low-altitude sector signed agreements to set up operations in the OVC Low-Altitude Economy Industrial Park located in the Wuhan East Lake High-tech Development Zone (also known as Optics Valley of China, or OVC) on Aug 12.
The signed entities included the Hubei UAV Industry Association, Hubei E-Hawk Technology Co, Wuhan Institute of Technology, and Smart UAV (Wuhan) Technology Co. These companies and institutions encompass a diverse range of areas within the industry, including unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) manufacturing, research and testing, exhibition and promotion, emergency rescue, and testing services.

"The park is a great place for drone test flights. Additionally, the convenient transportation options and amenities like canteens and talent apartments alleviate the concerns of our research and development personnel," remarked Li Lingling, deputy general manager of E-Hawk Technology.
According to the Hubei UAV Industry Association, as of July 2024, the province boasted approximately 150 companies and institutions focusing on the UAV business. Over 80 of these entities are registered in OVC.

"OVC offers a bright future for the development of the low-altitude economy. The zone boasts impressive strengths in terms of talent pooling, industrial foundation, policy support, industrial positioning and infrastructure," said Cai Xiaodong, president of the Hubei UAV Industry Association. Cai further expressed confidence in OVC's emerging as a leading growth hub within the national low-altitude economy landscape.
Moving forward, OVC will continue to increase investment in and support for the low-altitude economy, so as to attract more high-quality domestic and international enterprises and talents to the zone.
