The Puwan Economic Zone has achieved another milestone in intelligent manufacturing. According to  an early draft of the 2025 Advanced Smart Factories announced by the Liaoning Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, three local enterprises - Dalian Zhengda Qingyuan Building Materials Co Ltd, Dalian Colid Semiconductor Materials Co Ltd, and Dalian Gaojia Chemical Co Ltd - have been selected for their outstanding performance in smart manufacturing.

As industries rapidly evolve, digital and intelligent transformation has become a key strategy for enterprises seeking to enhance efficiency and unlock future growth. Smart factories, as vital platforms for intelligent manufacturing, play a crucial role in fostering new productive forces and building a modern industrial system.

In October 2024, six national ministries jointly issued a four-tier system for developing smart factories, categorizing them asBasic, Advanced, Excellent, and Leading.

The recent recognition of three Advanced Smart Factories in Puwan Economic Zone underscores the zone’s steady progress in digital and smart manufacturing. To date, the zone has cultivated a provincial industrial internet platform enterprise, seven advanced smart factories, nine provincial-level digital workshops, two provincial-level fully connected 5G factories, and 45 enterprises engaged in information technology and industrialization integration, mainly in new materials, high-end equipment manufacturing, and fine chemicals.

Looking ahead, Puwan Economic Zone will continue to deepen its digital and intelligent transformation strategy, accelerating the integration of next-generation information technologies -such as industrial internet, 5G, and artificial intelligence -with the manufacturing sector. The goal is to build a high-quality smart manufacturing hub that contributes to Liaoning’s revitalization.
