On June 3, Jinpu New Area convened a symposium on mould industry development, which also marked the area's third government-business consultation meeting this year.

Recognized as the "mother of industry", the mould industry is vital to basic manufacturing and industrial upgrading. The meeting aimed to strengthen dialogue between government and enterprises, assess industry progress, and build consensus for further growth.

During the meeting, representatives from enterprises such as Punch Industry shared practical insights discussed issues like technological innovation and market expansion. They openly highlighted challenges such as  technological bottlenecks, talent gaps, and supply chain issues, while offering suggestions to support the mould industry’s high-quality development in Jinpu.

Officials engaged in in-depth discussions with business representatives and addressed their concerns. They underscored the importance of financial support in advancing the industry and called for dedicated coordinators to strengthen targeted government-enterprise cooperation.

Clear positioning of Jinpu's mould industry within the national landscape was also highlighted, urging stakeholders to benchmark against leading regions such as the Yangtze River Delta and the Pearl River Delta, identify gaps, and implement targeted strategies.

On talent development, it was proposed that human resources departments work closely with enterprises to strengthen the talent pipeline. In terms of technological advancement, companies were encouraged to seize opportunities in new materials, processes, and intelligent manufacturing, with a particular focus on robotics. The government also pledged full support for enterprise R&D needs, leveraging the computing power of Dalian's "Digital Valley".

In addition, participants called for better utilization of national policies to accelerate the establishment of a mould industry testing platform. Activities such as mould design competitions were proposed to promote craftsmanship and the spirit of excellence. The importance of industry associations in enhancing global competitiveness was highlighted, and enterprises were encouraged to adopt standards beyond the norm to promote a more standardized and professional mould industry.
