China-Eurasia expo draws thousands, deepens cooperation

The ninth China-Eurasia Expo, held in Urumqi from Thursday to Monday, recorded a total of 329,300 visits, including 9,812 visits by overseas audiences, according to Xu Yeping, Party secretary of the Xinjiang International Expo Administration.

The event was hosted by the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and the government of the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region.

For the first time, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Secretariat, the secretariat of the China-Central Asia Mechanism, and the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation Institute served as co-organizers. Kazakhstan and Pakistan were invited as guest countries of honor.

The event attracted participation from 49 countries, regions, and international organizations, 27 of which set up pavilions. The United Arab Emirates, South Korea, Russia, and Thailand established pavilions for the first time. Over 3,100 domestic and foreign institutions and enterprises took part in exhibition, with more than 2,000 overseas exhibitors and business representatives and 23,700 domestic buyers and professional visitors in attendance.
