The HICOOL 2026 Global Entrepreneurs Summit opened on Wednesday evening at the China International Exhibition Center's Shunyi venue, with international projects accounting for 56 percent of submissions.

The summit has attracted 10,209 projects and 13,472 entrepreneurs from 141 countries and regions. It is expected to attract over 50,000 attendees and will run until Aug 29.

During the event, a report for global entrepreneurs was released, and a support project for global OPCs (one person companies) was announced, as was a panorama digital life program, which aims to unite global scientific research efforts to tackle cutting-edge life sciences.

Following these announcements, representatives of award-winning projects from artificial intelligence, healthcare, quantum information, robotics, and biotechnology took the stage for presentations, where they received feedback from industry investors and academic experts.

This year's competition recognized 200 award-winning projects, with academicians and industry leaders presenting awards to the winning teams.

Over seven years, the HICOOL platform has accumulated 44,435 entrepreneurial projects, incubated 5 publicly listed companies, 18 unicorns, and 219 specialized and innovative enterprises, with the total financing of award-winning projects exceeding 71.9 billion yuan ($10.7 billion).
