Beijing hosted an investment matchmaking event for the artificial intelligence industry at Shougang Park on Sept 10, bringing together investors and AI companies to speed up the commercialization of AI technologies.
The event was part of the Beijing municipal government’s broad efforts to promote investment and showcase its business environment while the 2026 China International Fair for Trade in Services is underway in the Chinese capital city.
The matchmaking event attracted dozens of leading investment institutions, including Frees Fund, Meridian Capital, Future Capital and Oriza Seed, alongside more than 200 representatives of investment firms, AI companies, government departments and industrial parks.
During a panel discussion on AI commercialization and capital, investors including Mi Fei, partner at Oriza Seed; Li Yan, managing director at Meridian Capital; Chang Ying, Greater China strategy and transactions TMT leader at Ernst & Young; Xiao Li, partner at HighLight Capital; and Zhang Peng, partner at Northern Light Venture Capital, shared their views on industry trends and investment directions.
In the roadshow session, growth-stage AI companies including FieldQuantum, EcoMatrix and Lingxi Technology presented projects covering AI chips and computing power, general-purpose large models, embodied AI robots, industrial AI and sector-specific intelligent solutions. Various entrepreneurs pitched their business models, market potential and funding needs, drawing repeated expressions of interest from investors, who raised their bidding cards and exchanged business cards with the presenters.
The matchmaking event stands as a key example of industrial-financial coordination and innovation-driven empowerment in AI. It has fostered a virtuous cycle linking technology, industry and finance, creating a premium platform for AI startups to showcase, exchange and secure funding.
Beijing will continue to leverage CIFTIS as a national platform to deepen the alignment between capital and the AI industry, speed up the deployment of AI technologies, and the growth of industrial clusters, contributing Beijing's solutions to global development in AI.
