The China Speech Valley, located in Hefei National High-Tech Industry Development Zone, East China’s Anhui province, is managed by Anhui IT Industry Investment & Holdings Co. Through investment, promotion, incubation and other aspects, it aims to gather more artificial intelligence (AI) industry projects in China Speech Valley, building it into a Chinese AI industry highland. 

China Speech Valley is China’s only national-level industrial base in the field of AI. Owned by an industrial promotion mechanism jointly established by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Anhui provincial government, China Speech Valley has extended from intelligent speech technology to other artificial intelligence fields. It is expected to seize the opportunity of explosive growth of artificial intelligence technology and its application to the new layout of the AI ecosystem. 

The Speech Valley mainly focuses on intelligent terminal, Internet Plus, big data, intelligent service and information security. It relies on some strong innovative institutes, including the University of Science and Technology of China and Chinese Academy of Sciences, National Engineering Laboratory for Brain-inspired Intelligence Technology and Application, Institute of Advanced Technology, University of Science and Technology of China and National Engineering Laboratory for Speech and Language Information Processing to promote the deep integration of study, research and production. 

The park takes iFLYTEK Co as the main force, engaging in core technology of speech research and development and tried to improve and construct the industrial chain, eventually forming an industrial cluster. 

There are currently 460,000 startup team members in the AI platform of iFLYTEK Co, providing services for 3.5 billion people. It has built cooperation relationship with more than 20,000 AI hardware firms, preliminarily forming an AI ecosystem taking iFLYTEK as the core.

Core area

The core area of China Speech Valley is located at No 666, Wangjiang West Road (northwest of the junction of Wangjiang West Road and Yonghe Road) in the Hefei National High-Tech Industry Development Zone (Hefei high-tech zone). Spanning an area of 138,667 square meters, it was put into operation in early 2011 and most of its parts have been completed. The major enterprise of China Speech Valley is iFLYTEK Co. The valley engages in core technology of speech research and development and tries to improve and construct the industrial chain, eventually to form an industrial cluster.
