Guian New Area in Southwest China's Guizhou province has received the most investments in the province at a green industry development signing ceremony, which was held alongside the 2018 Guiyang Eco Forum Global Annual Conference in Guizhou's capital, Guiyang, on July 8.
During the ceremony, Guizhou signed 34 projects with a total cost of 13.03 billion yuan ($1.97 billion), nearly half of which is provided by a 5.6-billion-yuan project from Guian.
With the help of Jiangsu TAFEL New Energy Technology and the Guian High-end Equipment Manufacturing Park, the project will build a battery production line with an annual output of 12GWh, able to manufacture aluminum-shell square batteries for electric buses, passenger cars and logistic vehicles, as well as some storage systems.
Upon its completion in more than three years, the line is expected to generate about eight billion yuan in sales annually, contribute around 500 million yuan in taxes and provide 1,000 jobs.
Projects signed at the ceremony involve a dozen industries, including big data, big pharmaceuticals, modern agriculture in mountainous regions, new architectural materials and tourism in mountainous regions.
A total of 23 projects involve Guizhou's natural environment, with 10 involving low-carbon clean energy. Guiyang and Zunyi each secured one project receiving foreign investment.
