Chinese computer giant Lenovo Group Ltd signed a new partnership agreement with Yangtze Optical Fibre and Cable Joint Stock (YOFC) at East Lake High-tech Development Zone (Optics Valley of China) in Wuhan, Central China's Hubei province, on Dec 24.
Based at Optics Valley, YOFC is a leading global optical fiber and cable manufacturer.
According to the agreement, Lenovo will help YOFC build an industrial internet and intelligent manufacturing system driven by data intelligence, to enhance its core competitiveness in this area.
The new agreement is in response to a national development plan for promoting the integration of the internet and advanced manufacturing industries, in order to improve innovation –– a key national objective.
Lenovo will also help the province introduce core technologies to the intelligent internet sector and attract innovative enterprises.
Indeed, cooperation in areas such as big data and artificial intelligence has already started between the two sides.
