Chinese high-tech companies and internet firms have signed agreements on future collaboration with Hungary’s Ministry of Science and Technology and Hungarian companies in Beijing.

Companies including Tsinghua Holdings, a technology conglomerate backed by Tsinghua University, and the Chinese online travel company Ctrip.com were among those who attended the signing ceremony at the Hungarian embassy on Nov 12.

The two countries will work together in fields including automatic driving, artificial intelligence, environmental technology and digital technology.

Palkovics László, Hungary's science and technology minister, and Mate Pesti, Hungary's ambassador to China, were among those who attended the ceremony.

This year marks the 70th anniversary of Sino-Hungarian diplomatic relations. Hungary has a long and rich history of friendship with China. It was the first European country to join the Belt and Road Initiative and has been propelling its trade and investment with China.
