NEV charging devices

China’s new-energy vehicle industry has developed rapidly in the past 10 years, with its scale leading the world and its sales ranking first in the world for five consecutive years. More than 4.5 million NEVs have been sold, half the world’s total. The construction of charging piles has played a big part in the growth momentum.

By the end of June, China had built 38,000 battery charging stations, 449 battery swap stations, and 1.3 million charging poles, according to Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) data.

In the past 5 years, China saw a particularly rapid increase in charging piles. From 2015 to 2019, the number of NEVs in China increased from 583,000 to 3.81 million, meanwhile, the number of charging piles jumped sharply from 66,000 to 1.22 million, a rise of about 17.5-times. During this period the ratio of EVs to charging piles decreased from 8.8:1 to 3.1:1 and the number of public chargers grew from 58,000 to 516,000, an 8-fold increase in 4 years.
