The China branch of French pharmaceutical company Servier and China's pharmacy company Yixintang Pharmaceutical Group Co announced Monday that they have formed a strategic partnership for "resource sharing and mutual benefits", to provide high-quality and innovative medicine products from Servier China to patients in provinces and regions covered by Yixintang.
With this strategic partnership, Servier China will leverage on Yixintang's broad network, strong marketing capabilities, flexible and diversified channels and innovative services that integrate online and offline, to provide innovative services such as marketing, retail coverage, internet hospital projects and supply chain services for its complete product portfolio, including drugs for treatment of the diabetes, hypertension and cardiovascular disease.
The aim is to comprehensively improve drug accessibility for local patients with chronic diseases, Servier China said.
As one of the first multinational companies that entered China more than 40 years ago, Servier has been an industry leader in cardiovascular disease and diabetes. The company said it will actively expand its business in oncology, providing therapeutic drugs and solutions to three million patients every day.
Founded in January 2001, Yixintang has more than 5,500 directly operated pharmacies with its network covering the 10 provinces and municipalities, including Yunnan, Sichuan and Shanxi provinces as well as the municipalities of Shanghai, Tianjin and Chongqing.
In July 2014, Yixintang became the first A-share listed pharmacy chain in China.
