IX. Foreign firms banking on CIIE for growth

Despite the uncertain global economic situation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the 3rd CIIE was a big success. $72.62 billion of intended deals were made at the third CIIE, an increase of 2.1 percent year-on-year, demonstrating foreign companies' continued confidence and interest in the Chinese market.

Industrial players' confidence in China is based on its 1.4 billion population, a middle-income group that exceeds 400 million, and the estimated $22 trillion in imports that will come into the country in the next decade.
