In 2020, a total of 30 Japanese-funded projects were newly established or increased investment in Suzhou New District (SND), of which nine projects had registered capital of more than $12 million and six had registered capital of $20 million and higher.

In 2021, SND will continue to bolster its attractiveness to Japanese companies and strive to foster more mutually beneficial cooperation.

A magazine that introduces the investment and development updates in SND will be sent to local Japanese companies as well as their Chinese headquarters every month. The magazine was all rolled out in Japanese and its first edition was released in January, reaching over 1,000 readers.

SND will actively boost the integration of the Chinese and Japanese green industries, aiming to become an example in China-Japan green industrial innovation.

The district will make use of its office in Japan to continue to attract Japanese investment.

It aims to bring in at least 30 Japanese investments this year in life sciences, healthcare for seniors, medical devices, high-end equipment, as well as securities and insurance.

Aside from improving its friendly environment for Japanese businesses, SND will set up a fund to offer financial support to Japanese technical teams, as well as small- and medium-sized companies who have settled in the district.

The district will also carry out a series of financial and cultural activities regularly to enhance the mutual understanding of local Japanese companies.
