Chinese robotic vacuum cleaner makers are ratcheting up efforts to expand their presence in overseas markets as global demand rises.
Beijing Roborock Technology Co Ltd, for instance, saw its revenue from overseas markets surge 124 percent year-on-year in the first six months of 2021 to 1.255 billion yuan. ($194.3 million).
The spike came as Beijing Roborock Technology's products are now available in more than 100 countries and regions. It is also steadily expanding retail channels in Europe, Southeast Asia and other regions.
As of the first half of the year, the company has established branches in the United States, Japan, the Netherlands, Poland, Germany, South Korea and other countries and regions.
Chang Jing, chairman and CEO of Beijing Roborock Technology, said the company is positioned to be a mid-to-high-end intelligent hardware company in the world, with the long-term goal of being a mid-to-high-end technology innovation company.
According to market research company ResearchAndMarkets.com, the global robotic vacuum cleaners market is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 23.2 percent from 2021 to 2028 to reach $15.4 billion by 2028.
The increasing popularity of intelligent and connected vacuum cleaners offering voice control and smart navigation features is expected to drive the demand for robotic vacuum cleaners, ResearchAndMarkets.com said.
