Meanwhile, United States-based commercial real estate services and firm CBRE brought a slew of green real estate solutions to the expo. Gary Li, head of tech solution and sustainability of CBRE China, noted that the carbon footprint of a property will greatly influence its price in the years to come.

"There is huge potential in the green remodeling and retrofitting of existing buildings in China," he said, adding that the company has more than 400 sustainability professionals around the globe who have helped reduce carbon emissions by 680,000 tons since 2017.
