North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region is aiming to work on the construction of 3,289 major projects in the current year and to mark that, ceremonies marking a raft of projects being undertaken in 2022 were held on Friday.
The main ceremony took place in the region's Ordos city and sub-sites were connected via video link.
The projected total number of projects represents an increase of 215 projects compared with 2021.
Of the 3,289 projects, some 1,560 are breaking ground and 1,729 projects are resuming construction. Meanwhile, 1,134 projects will be funded by the regional government, while companies are investing in 2,155 projects.
The total investment of the 3,289 projects is expected to be 2.7 trillion yuan ($405.1 billion yuan), 300 billion yuan more than in 2021. Of that, 585.4 billion yuan will be put in place this year, a year-on-year increase of 119.9 billion yuan.
At the end of March, some 2,408 projects out of the total had started or resumed construction, with 101.3 billion yuan invested so far.
In addition, Ordos is projected to implement 1,000 major projects with an investment volume of around 100 billion yuan in the current year.
