Harley Seyedin: AmCham South China bullish on CIFIT

Harley Seyedin, president of the American Chamber of Commerce in South China (AmCham South China), praised benefits of the China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) at a press conference in Xiamen, East China's Fujian province, on Sept 7.

Led by Seyedin, AmCham South China delegation will attend the 22nd CIFIT, which will be held in Xiamen from Sept 8 to Sept 11, marking the 19th year for the organization to attend the event. The delegation is comprised of over 100 senior business leaders, including executives from multinational companies such as Nike, Citi Bank, Deloitte, Apex, and Merck.

AmCham South China’s CIFIT delegation has made tremendous achievements over the past 18 years and its members have achieved huge business success at the past editions of CIFIT, said Seyedin.

AmCham South China is an organization dedicated to facilitating bilateral trade between the United States and China. Since 2010, AmCham member companies have signed more than $2 billion on average in each of the past years at CIFIT.

Seyedin added that CIFIT has developed into the world’s largest, most influential and authoritative international investment and trade promotion platform.

AmCham South China has taken a delegation to Xiamen, for the past 18 years, to help its members learn and invest in the city and will, as always, return to the beautiful city of Xiamen every year to support this important event, said Seyedin.

During this year’s CIFIT, AmCham South China’s CIFIT delegation will attend the Green China • Low-Carbon Industry International Cooperation Summit Forum to deepen international exchanges and practical cooperation on green and low-carbon industries.

At the forum, Seyedin will share his views on the exploration of international cooperation on green and low-carbon industries, in the context of carbon peak and carbon neutrality, from the perspectives of green technology, green standard and green finance.

The delegation will also meet with government leaders from Fujian province and Putian city, visit local enterprises for business matchmaking, and jointly explore opportunities for investment and cooperation.

In addition, the CIFIT delegation will participate in the Leading China • Emerging Industry Investment and Financing Cooperation Conference and the themed exhibition during the CIFIT to connect with the national and global markets and partners and enhance international collaboration.
