New aircraft skin production line completed in Xi'an

Construction of a large aircraft skin production line, recently completed in the Xi'an Yanliang National Aviation High-tech Industrial Base – located in the city of Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province – is expected to have a positive impact on the local aerospace sector.

The production line will realize the low-cost manufacturing of domestic large aircraft skins, which will boost the competitiveness of Shaanxi's aviation industry.

An aircraft's skin is designed to protect its internal structure, maintain the shape of the aircraft, and give it good aerodynamic properties.

The production line was funded and constructed by Xi'an Xinghang Aviation Technology Co. It is expected to produce skin components for more than 100 large aircraft noses, hatches, movable wings – as well as front, middle and rear fuselages – to promote the high-quality development of the domestic large aircraft skin industry.

The company has established a team to carry out extensive technical research and engineering tests of the aircraft skin production process and equipment， and to optimize the skin processing technology.

The company has applied for four related invention patents and six utility model patents, which will establish the company's competitive advantage in the field of aircraft skin manufacturing.
