When Terrance Taylor first came to Beijing as a tourist, its third-ring road was still a two-lane street with lots of bicycles and few cars. Now the city has expanded all the way to the sixth-ring road. "It amazes you how rapidly it has grown and how it continues to grow," he said.
Taylor is a general manager at Cummins, an American power solution provider and engine manufacturer, and he has been working and living in Beijing for more than 10 years.
"China is one of the fastest growing markets for electric vehicles and fuel cell vehicles," he said, adding that its business environment has been improving continuously. The government in Beijing's Chaoyang district provides such a great service to multinational companies in the area that Taylor feels like they are being attended by a personal butler.
"We know we can go to them to take care of any problems. It makes Beijing feel like home," he said.
