Tetra Pak, the global food processing and packaging solutions provider, has vowed to further support the innovations in the Chinese dairy industry as its Kunshan Integrated Site was awarded the "Science & Technology Innovation Base of Dairy Industry" by China Dairy Industry Association this week in Shanghai.
The company is the first honored technology innovator in the industry and said it will continue its support to empower the country's dairy innovation within its advanced technologies and resources.
Liu Meiju, executive vice-president and secretary-general of CDIA, said: "The participation from pioneering companies will inspire and motivate more to join, and thus could jointly drive the industry innovation."
Paul Zhu, president of Tetra Pak Greater China, said: "Innovation is in our DNA and a key foothold for our business in China. It's admirable how committed and effective CDIA is in encouraging the industry innovation.
Since the "Green Leaves" training program in the 1990s, Tetra Pak and CDIA have collaborated on the industry talents cultivation in various ways. The company will leverage its knowledge, expertise and experience accumulated in the areas of testing facility and conditions, as well as R&D capabilities and practices to support CDIA in its efforts to contributing to the high-quality development of China dairy industry, said the president.
At the award ceremony, CDIA and Tetra Pak signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen the cooperation around the Science & Technology Innovation Base (Kunshan) of Dairy Industry.
Backed by the Innovation Base, Tetra Pak will help CDIA to carry out various technical innovation initiatives. The company will also support relevant trainings and events organized by CDIA.
