Xiamen boasts booming sanitaryware industry

A list of China's top cities that owned the most sanitary patents in 2021 was released on Dec 14. Xiamen, which owned a total of 2,930 patents, ranked first.

Among the 20 sanitaryware patent applicants first released in 2021, Xiamen enterprises accounted for 75 percent, which made industry insiders think that Xiamen was home to a great number of leading enterprises in the industry.

The sanitaryware industry is one of Xiamen's pillar industries, and currently, there are a total of 270 sanitaryware enterprises in Xiamen, among which a total of 131 enterprises are above designated size. Among China's seven listed enterprises in the industry, there are four located in Xiamen.

The number of sanitary patents owned by Xiamen's enterprises presently has reached 12,362, and Runner Group enjoys the largest share, with a total of 1,772 patents created by the company.

As Xiamen enjoys an extraordinary sanitaryware industry, Xiamen's enterprises now are participating in the making of regulations in China's sanitaryware market. So far, Xiamen enterprises have been involved in the making of 138 regulations that have been applied in the domestic sanitaryware market.
