In recent years, the Boao Lecheng International Medical Tourism Pilot Zone (Lecheng Pilot Zone) has gathered a batch of domestic and overseas quality medical resources, providing guarantees for research and development in the medical environment, human resources and application examples.

In order to attract talents, the Lecheng Pilot Zone set up a key laboratory for research and evaluation of real world data, which is first of its kind in the country, and established the Boao Research Hospital, which is jointly built by the Ruijin Hospital affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine and the Hainan General Hospital. With the support of the Education Department of Hainan Province, the Hainan Institute of Real World Data cooperated with Hainan University to launch China's first interdisciplinary master and doctoral graduate student training program of "real world data application", training a number of high-end talents in real world data research.

Based on its medical institutions, the zone has introduced professional and technical talents, academic leaders and famous domestic doctors to carry out multi-sited work. So far, the zone has signed 51 academician and expert groups to fuel the development of China's medical innovation.
