Annual events of Lecheng in 2022

Let's review the important moments of the Boao Lecheng International Medical Tourism Pilot Zone (Lecheng Pilot Zone) in 2022.

On January 4, the Lecheng Pilot Zone, together with the Information Office of Hainan Province, held a press conference to announce that imported licensed medical products in Lecheng exceeded 200 for the first time and that Lecheng is in step with international advanced levels in medical technology, equipment and medicine. The zone has stepped into a new stage of high-quality development.

On February 21, a Shanghai investment promotion of the Lecheng Pilot Zone and the Real World Data Research Promotion and Exchange Conference were held in Shanghai. Sixty-two domestic and overseas well-known innovative medical products enterprises, leaders from Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine and its 12 affiliated hospitals and representatives of five Hainan government departments including the Hainan Development and Reform Commission gathered at Lecheng Pilot Zone to discuss the high-quality development of the zone.

On March 3, the National Medical Products Administration approved the application of the registration of hot steam therapy equipment and disposable prostate hot steam therapy deviceof Boston Scientific Corporation. The Lecheng Pilot Zone's pilot program for the application of clinical real world data had once more achieved a new breakthrough.

On April 11, the Lecheng Pilot Zone signed a cooperative agreement with the Haikou National High-Tech Industrial Development Zone to jointly build the Lecheng Pilot Zone-Haikou National High-tech Zone enclave economy cooperation demonstration park, to boost high-quality development of medical equipment and the biomedical industry in Hainan.

On May 24, Teng Gaojun, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and president of Zhongda Hospital Affiliated toSoutheast University, carried out China's first clinical treatment by yttrium 90 glass microsphere at Boao Super Hospital, filling another frontier technological gap in the field of liver cancer treatment in China and providing a new choice for targeted treatment of liver cancer.

In June, a fluocinolone acetonide intravitreal implant was approved by the National Medical Products Administration, which was China's first imported registered medicine based on overseas clinical trial data and clinical real world data of domestic patients.

On July 29, the Lecheng Pilot Zone's medical and industrial transformation platform was officially launched. It signed a cooperative agreement with the China Medical Innovation Alliance (CMIA), marking that the medical advanced technologies transformation platform of Hainan Free Trade Port had accelerated the process of industrial innovation.

To fight against COVID-19, the Lecheng Pilot Zone has since August organized more than 200 medical staff to support Qionghai city's nucleic acid testing.

On September 13, the Lecheng Global Specialty Drug Insurance was launched in Hainan Free Trade Port Boao Hope City to explore multiple medical security systems for the people of Hainan and the whole country and to fuel the construction of "Healthy China".

On October 28, Lecheng Hospital of the First Affiliated Hospital of Hainan Medical University was unveiled, which will further improve the Lecheng Pilot Zone's medical service level and promote its high-quality development.

From November 5 to 10, the 5th China International Import Expo (CIIE) was held in Shanghai. The Lecheng Pilot Zone had participated in the CIIE for four consecutive years. It carried out investment attraction negotiations and signed cooperation agreements with Johnson & Johnson, Novartis, Medtronic, Pfizer, Sanofi and more than 30 world-famous medical product corporations.

On December 8, hosted by the People’s Government of Hainan Province and supported by the National Medical Products Administration, the 1st Boao International Conference on Real World Studies of Medical Products was held in Boao, Hainan. It gathered domestic and overseas representatives from governments, industries, universities and research institutes to share their ideas.
