Introduction

The Hainan Boao Lecheng International Medical Tourism Pilot Zone (the "Lecheng Pilot Zone"), the only medical special zone in China, is located in Boao town of Qionghai city, Hainan province, close to the core area of the Boao Forum for Asia.

From policies and industrial construction to innovation, Lecheng Pilot Zone has made many "No.1" or "Only" creations in the country or the province, achieving breakthroughs in the key parks of the Hainan Free Trade Port. It was the first zone to establish a medical and drug administration, piloting the supervision reform integrating medical care with medicine. It has established China's only whole-process traceability platform for unlisted licensed medicine and medical devices, carrying out real-time tracking and management of the whole process. It has set up China's only bonded warehouse of licensed medicine and medical equipment, and greatly increased the efficiency of importing licensed medicine and medical devices. It has built China’s only long-term exhibition hall gathering global innovative medicine and medical equipment. What's more, the "Ever Lasting" International Innovation Medicine Exhibition has attracted more than 80 international manufacturers of innovation medicine and medical equipment from 16 countries.

So far, the Lecheng Pilot Zone has operated 25 medical institutions and more than 20 more are under construction or planning. With increasing international influence, the pilot zone has attracted various international pharmaceutical companies, world famous medical institutions, medical parks and international talents, and is quickly becoming a hot area for global innovation and entrepreneurship.

The world's top 30 medicine and medical equipment enterprises have established direct cooperation with the Lecheng Pilot Zone. It has introduced more than 300 pharmaceutical products and medical devices not listed in China, basically setting the same pace as with medical technology, equipment and medicine at an advanced level. The Lecheng Pilot Zone has laid a solid foundation for opening the medical field and an important window for "dual circulation" of domestic and foreign markets, which meets people’s increasing needs for medical treatment.
