A trade delegation led by Zheng Deyan, mayor of Yantai, visited Singapore, South Korea and Japan from March 17 to 26 to seek business cooperation opportunities and achieved fruitful results.
By holding economic and trade negotiation activities in the countries, the delegation met with more than 210 representatives of enterprises and business associations, visited 13 Fortune Global 500 companies and multinationals, and signed 28 cooperation agreements.
In Singapore, the delegation visited local companies to promote cooperation in the field of clean energy, and held the Yantai Marine Engineering Industry Investment Promotion Conference and the Yantai Modern Finance and Cultural Tourism Industrial Cooperation Matchmaking Summit. Zheng introduced Yantai's development opportunities to Singaporean politicians and businessmen.
South Korea is Yantai's largest source of foreign investment and second largest trading partner. During the delegation's visit to the country, Zheng promoted Yantai's advantages in developing the biomedicine industry and extended a welcome to South Korean enterprises to join the industrial chain in Yantai.
On March 23, the delegation arrived in Japan. They visited local companies to promote cooperation in hydrogen energy, port transportation, finance and other fields. At the Yantai-Tokyo Key Enterprise High-level Dialogue held in Tokyo, Zheng introduced the development of green and low-carbon industries, new materials, biomedicine and other opportunities in Yantai.
