The China (Guangxi) - Vietnam Economic and Trade Cooperation Matchmaking Event was held on March 31 in Vietnam's capital city, Hanoi, to build a platform for economic and trade cooperation between the two sides.

Representatives from relevant departments and key enterprises in Guangxi and Vietnam discussed and facilitated 38 cooperation projects, involving trade in goods and cross-border investment. Ten projects were signed on site, with a signing amount of 24.4 billion yuan ($3.5 billion).

Liu Ning, Party secretary of Guangxi, pointed out that Guangxi has pursued a more proactive strategy for opening-up, and has made great efforts to foster a world-class business environment that is market-oriented, law-based, and internationalized. It has also created convenient conditions for Vietnamese goods, especially agricultural products, to enter the Chinese market.

Since 2023, Guangxi has been adjusting and optimizing its customs clearance mode at ports, which now run more efficiently. From January to February this year, Guangxi's import and export trade with Vietnam reached 32.33 billion yuan, an increase of 55.6 percent year-on-year.
