The 2023 Intellectual Property Innovation and Development Forum and the launch ceremony for the planned International Intellectual Property Service Center were held on April 13 in the Lin-gang Special Area, in East China's Shanghai.
During the event, a business acceptance window was unveiled for the China National Intellectual Property Administration, or CNIPA in the Lin-gang Special Area.
The window will service among others patents, trademarks and comprehensive functions. These will handle 35 IP services such as patent application document acceptances, fee reduction reviews, patent rights pledge registrations, trademark registrations, renewals, change applications and usage license filings.
At the event, it was announced that the first 10 tenants will settle in the planned Lin-gang Special Area International Intellectual Property Service Center – including the Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration, the Lin-gang Special Area Administration and the Lingang Group.
Plans are for the service center to be located at Dishui Lake Financial Bay and it will provide integrated services for various business entities – including intellectual property business acceptances, transaction permits, evaluations and assessments, transfers and conversions, rights protection and technology finance.
It will also provide shared office and event spaces for general intellectual property service agencies and showcase the latest practices in intellectual property and innovation developments in the area.
A patent fair value evaluations system for the Lin-gang Special Area was also announced on-site. Eight institutions, including the Lin-gang Intellectual Property Exchange Promotion Center and the Lin-gang branch of Industrial Bank Co Ltd, signed contracts to promote the further improvement and practical application of the new system.
