Top 10 NEV makers in China

China registered 1.65 million and 1.59 million units of new energy vehicles in production and sales, respectively, in the first quarter of 2023, increasing 27.7 and 26.2 percent on a yearly basis. Sales of NEVs have taken up 26.1 percent of total automobile sales during the same period, according to askai.com citing statistics from the China Passenger Car Association.

BYD sold 508,700 units in the first three months, grabbing 38.8 percent of market shares, Tesla China and GAC Aion took the second and three places, taking up 10.5 and 6.1 percent of market shares by delivering 137,400 and 80,300 units, respectively.

Chang'an Auto sold 60,700 units in the first quarter, witnessing a skyrocketing growth of 98 percent on the yearly basis, and acquired 4.6 percent of market shares.
