Global accounting firm KPMG recently announced that it will set up a new office venue in Shanghai Hongqiao International Central Business District.
Named KAMPUS (KPMG Campus), the new office will be located in the Hongqiao Vanke Center, covering an area of nearly 14,000 square meters, according to Honson To, chairman of KPMG China and Asia Pacific.
The new office, which is scheduled to be put into use in January 2024, is expected to be a hub through which KPMG allocates its global resources and links its business across the country. It is also designed to be a training center for KPMG's personnel, To said.
To also noted in the announcement that the Hongqiao CBD boasts convenient transportation and infrastructure, with the Hongqiao Vanke Center receiving a gold certification of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), the rating system used by the US Green Building Council to measure a building's sustainability and resource efficiency.
The environmentally friendly environment not only corresponds to KPMG's goal of expanding its influence in achieving carbon neutralization in 2030, but is expected to help create a better working environment for employees.
