Lecheng embraces high-level medical department

The Boao International Medical Department of Chongqing University Three Gorges Hospital was established in the Boao Lecheng International Medical Tourism Pilot Zone of Hainan province in early July.

The department will leverage the policy and industrial advantages of the pilot zone, as well as the hospital's abundant medical resources.

It will implement hotel-style management to offer premium medical and health management services, medical aesthetics and clinical trials of international cutting-edge drugs and treatment devices. It will also conduct real-world clinical research and medical tourism.

As a flagship initiative, it will feature precise tumor treatment to cater to the needs of different patient groups and populations, providing personalized healthcare services.

Jia Ning, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the Hainan Boao Lecheng International Medical Tourism Pilot Zone Administration, delivered a compelling speech at the unveiling ceremony.

He emphasized that the Lecheng zone serves not only as a hub for high-quality medical resources but also fosters collaboration with domestic and international bio-pharmaceutical companies in various areas. It actively promotes independent research and development of innovative medicines and medical equipment, and also extends real-world research applications. He firmly believes that through joint efforts, the medical department can become an innovative hub in the medical and engineering field, benefiting a broader population.

The unveiling of the medical department shows Lecheng will further enhance its disciplinary capacity and service level, meet diverse health demands and promote high-standard and high-quality development in the zone.

The Chongqing University Three Gorges Hospital is directly affiliated to Chongqing University, a university directly under the Ministry of Education and a provincial-level regional medical center.

It is also a grade-A tertiary hospital with a complete range of medical disciplines integrating medical care, teaching, research and prevention.

The Lecheng pilot zone was established on Feb 28, 2013, as approved by the State Council.

The zone is a pilot area for the development of international medical tourism, including franchised medical services, health management, care and rehabilitation, medical aesthetics and anti-aging.

It gathers high-end medical tourism services and cutting-edge medical technology, creating an internationally recognized medical technology service cluster.
