High-end port equipment manufacturing industry

The Changxing Island Port Equipment Manufacturing Industrial Park spans 44 square kilometers in the central and southern regions of Changxing Island. It focuses on such key industries as shipbuilding and marine equipment, new energy equipment, petrochemical equipment, and high-end equipment manufacturing.

The park aims to attract numerous large-scale, comprehensive equipment companies to establish a significant technical equipment industry cluster. By 2025, the industrial output value of enterprises above a designated size is expected to reach 85 billion yuan ($11.73 billion).

Shipbuilding and marine engineering equipment

The Dalian Changxing Island Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering Equipment Industrial Park spans 27.5 square kilometers, and is primarily situated on the north bank of Hulushan Bay, Changxing Island, Xizhong Island, and Dongjiakou Bay of Fengming Island. The park's shipbuilding and marine engineering industry emphasizes the intensive assembly and large-scale production of key components, focusing on the development of high-tech, high-value-added ship products. Priority is given to the manufacturing of marine engineering equipment and the accelerated development of the green ship repair industry.

Currently, the industrial park hosts several significant projects, from companies such as Hengli Hengli Heavy Industry Group, and the Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Co Ltd.

New energy equipment

  • Hydrogen energy equipment

Changxing Island is advancing the development of key materials, components, and powertrains for hydrogen fuel cell stacks. The focus is on large-scale hydrogen production, transportation, storage, and the batch manufacturing of fuel cells, aiming to establish a complete industrial chain for hydrogen energy equipment and core components.

  • Wind power equipment

Utilizing regional offshore wind power resources and the advantages of the island’s equipment manufacturing industrial chain, Changxing Island plans to collaborate with leading domestic manufacturers of wind power main engines, blades, and towers. The goal is to create a wind power equipment manufacturing center, R&D center, and operation and maintenance center specializing in offshore renewable energy, catering to the Northeast Asia and Southeast Asia markets. This initiative will establish a comprehensive industrial park for high-end new energy equipment on Changxing Island.

  • Photovoltaic equipment

Changxing Island is concentrating on the development of solar photovoltaic power generation systems and heat-collecting power generation systems for civil, commercial, and industrial applications. The focus includes the development of complete equipment sets for solar photovoltaic power stations with capacities above 10 megawatts.

By introducing, digesting, and re-innovating, Changxing Island aims to advance the production of photovoltaic equipment, such as single crystal furnaces, polycrystalline ingot furnaces, cutting machines, diffusion furnaces, PECVD equipment, screen printing machines, etching machines, high and low-temperature sintering furnaces, and cleaning machines.

  • Energy storage equipment

Changxing Island leverages the world-leading all-vanadium energy storage technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). In collaboration with the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, CAS, the Power Construction Corporation of China (POWERCHINA), and other entities, the island is developing the manufacturing of all-vanadium liquid flow battery stack systems, aiming to build a comprehensive industrial chain for vanadium energy storage systems. This effort is based on high-purity vanadium extraction and high-purity vanadium electrolyte preparation.

Petrochemical equipment

Changxing Island emphasizes the development of petrochemical equipment that offers strong processability, and high resistance to temperature extremes, pressure, and corrosion. Emphasizing energy conservation, emission reduction, and consumption reduction, the island develops and manufactures comprehensive sets of pulverized coal gasification equipment, large-scale gasification furnaces, pulverized coal preparation and dry coal transportation systems, special corrosion-resistant pumps and valves, large-scale air separation equipment, hydrogenation reactors, extrusion granulation units, and intelligent instrumentation.

Port logistics equipment

Changxing Island aims to build a comprehensive industrial chain for intelligent logistics equipment by attracting leading enterprises in storage, loading and unloading, and logistics sorting equipment. This spans from production and manufacturing to system integration, creating an advanced ecosystem for port logistics equipment.

High-end equipment

Changxing Island is dedicated to advancing intelligent manufacturing, electronics, energy conservation, and environmental protection sectors. Over 50 enterprises have established operations in the park, including prominent companies like Dalian Rubber and Plastics Machinery, Haitian Precision Machinery, Suntak Electronics, Dalian Yiduo Piping. These companies are at the forefront of innovation and development in their respective fields.
