On April 18, Hengli Heavy Industries Group Co Ltd (Hengli Heavy Industries) held the naming and delivery ceremony for its first ship, a 61,000 DWT (deadweight tonnage) bulk carrier, on Changxing Island, Dalian.

The delivery of the ship was ahead of schedule, demonstrating the company's mastery of modern shipbuilding techniques.

This bulk carrier, boasting a deadweight capacity of 61,000 tons, is 199.9 meters long, 34 meters wide, 16.3 meters deep, with a designed draft of 11.85 meters and a speed of 13.0 knots.

Despite its smaller size, the ship features environmentally friendly and energy-efficient traits. All performance and efficiency indicators are at a relatively high international level, which significantly reduces the operational costs for customers.

As a newcomer in the industry, Hengli Heavy Industries has quickly attracted renowned global experts in ship design, quality and production, forming an international team. It has also established good cooperative relationships with well-known shipowners and enterprises globally.

Since commencing full-scale operation, the project has proceeded at full speed. Construction of the ship began on March 30 last year, with the keel laid on October 30 and the main engine installed in February this year. It was launched in March, completed sea trials in early April, and was officially delivered on April 18, over 40 days ahead of schedule. Hengli Heavy Industry has achieved a breakthrough in shipbuilding within a short period.

This year, Hengli Heavy Industries will see around 20,000 workers manufacturing over 30 ships and processing nearly 500,000 tons of steel.

The company will focus on the goal of becoming a "world-class green shipbuilding and high-end equipment manufacturing base". It will continuously focus on building high-tech, complex and high value-added ships, striving to establish a reputation within the industry. This commitment will contribute to the goal of building China into a manufacturing and marine power.
