Dalian's Changxing Island cycling open draws intl competitors

On August 25, the 2024 Changxing Island of Dalian Cycling Open Race officially commenced, attracting 646 cycling enthusiasts and professional team riders from seven countries and regions.

The event, held on Changxing Island of Dalian, Liaoning province, featured a thrilling competition that tested both speed and endurance.

The race began at 8:00 am with the elite group leading the charge, followed by the mass group and youth group. The participants traversed scenic routes, with each category covering different distances—90 kilometers for the elite, 45 kilometers for the mass group, and 11 kilometers for the youth group.

As they cycled through the island, riders were treated to breathtaking views of Changxing Island’s natural beauty, cultural landmarks, industrial projects, and ongoing developments.

The event was organized under the guidance of the Liaoning Provincial  Bureau of Sport and co-hosted by the Dalian Municipal Bureau of Sport and the administrative committee of the Changxing Island Economic and Technological Development Zone. The local Education, Culture, Sports, and Health Bureau, along with Changxing Holdings Group Co Ltd, were responsible for coordinating the event.
