During the Hainan Free Trade Port Promotion Conference in Hong Kong, which was held on Feb 15, an official introduced Sanya's tourism consumption and technology industry development to the guests.
"With the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port, Sanya is becoming an international tourist destination and a high-tech innovation highland of the FTP," said Ye Jialin, director of the Sanya tourism promotion board. Ye introduced Sanya's tourism consumption and technology industry development to the guests, focusing on three parks, namely Haitang Bay National Coastal Leisure Park, Sanya Central Business District and Sanya Yazhou Bay Science and Technology City.
The planned area of Haitang Bay National Coastal Leisure Park is 108 square kilometers, and more than 20 first-tier hotels such as Atlantis Sanya are located on the 22km coastline. It is also surrounded by famous scenic spots such as Wuzhizhou Island, Haichang Fantasy Town and Paddy Field National Park. Thanks to the offshore duty-free shopping policies, the Sanya International Duty-free Complex in the park is quite popular with consumers.
Sanya is not only a world-class tourism consumption destination, but also a hot spot for enterprises at home and abroad to start businesses. The planned area of the Sanya CBD is 442 hectares. Benefiting from the FTP policies and the location advantages of the park, a modern financial development pattern integrating wealth management, cross-border finance and market factors has been formed.
The Sanya CBD is also accelerating the development of the yacht industry. The total number of registered yachts has reached 1,137, accounting for 82.54 percent of all those of Hainan province. The Sanya International Yacht Center project will be put into operation to provide more complete supporting facilities for relevant enterprises.
By the end of 2022, Sanya Yazhou Bay Science and Technology City had gathered innovative talents, and had welcomed 13 universities and scientific research institutes. Focusing on the two leading industries of Nanfan breeding and deep-sea science and technology, the park has accumulated 8,917 registered enterprises, including 1,263 in agriculture, 979 related to marine matters, and 941 in high-tech areas.
Ye said that in the future, Sanya will become a paradise for various market entities investing and starting businesses. He expressed his welcome for entrepreneurs to visit and invest in Sanya.
Guests at the conference said that the cooperation between Hainan and Hong Kong has broad prospects. They hope to share the opportunities of the Hainan FTP.
