Hainan expo opens new doors for global consumer enterprises

The third China International Consumer Products Expo kicked off at Hainan International Convention and Exhibition Center on April 10.

As the first major international exhibition held in China after the smooth transition of epidemic prevention and control, the expo will last for six days, with the theme of "share open opportunities, co-create a better life".

The exhibition area has reached 120,000 square meters, an increase of 20 percent compared with the last one.

From fragrance, jewelry, world famous wine, to lifestyle, fashion toys and traditional crafts, more than 3,000 consumer brands from 65 countries and regions will make their debut at the expo. It is expected that over 50,000 buyers and professional visitors and more than 300,000 visitors will visit the expo.

Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao said the expo will focus on green consumption, healthy consumption, smart consumption, fashion consumption etc, hold a series of activities to help strengthen the ties between exhibitors and buyers, stimulate vitality, boost consumer confidence and promote consumption upgrade.

"Nearly 30 global CEOs of the World's top 500 companies or industry leaders will attend the event offline, 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, Hong Kong, Macao Special Administrative Regions, and three planned cities of Dalian, Ningbo, Xiamen have all dispatched delegations to participate in the event.

The number of buyers and professional visitors and other core indicators increase significantly," Hainan Provincial Party Secretary Feng Fei said at the opening ceremony.

The international level of the expo has been significantly improved, with new foreign companies participating in the exhibition, such as Hugo Boss Group in the field of clothing and Germany's Kärcher in the field of consumer electronics.

A total of buyers from 35 countries and regions attended the expo, and the number of overseas buyers exceeded 2,000.

Apart from China, a total of 10 member countries of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership are attending the expo. Among them, Japan, South Korea, Thailand and Vietnam will participate in the form of national exhibition groups.

With an exhibition area of more than 1,800 square meters, including more than 250 brands from more than 50 companies, Japan ranks first among RCEP member countries in terms of exhibition area and number of brands.

Italy, the guest country of the third expo, has set up national pavilions and corporate pavilions this time, with 147 participating brands and an exhibition area of about 1,800 square meters, both double that of the last one.

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said in a video address that the expo is a major exhibition of international significance for China, and Italy feels honored to be designated as the guest of honor at this year's event.

"Italian products have long been loved in China for their originality, style and globally recognized uniqueness. This expo will make these features more prominent and make Italian products more popular among Chinese and world consumers."

Wang Wentao said that through the expo, enterprises from various countries can quickly connect with the Chinese market and share the development opportunities in China.

The expo also has a 20,000-square-meter exhibition area for showcasing Chinese products to the world.

Relying on the policy of Hainan Free Trade Port, the expo is opening a window and trading platform for global consumer quality enterprises, realizing "buy globally, sell globally", and creating opportunities for global enterprises to enter the Chinese market and Chinese enterprises to go global.
