Sanya's exhibition industry has been booming this year. In the first half of this year, the city held 1,691 conferences and exhibitions.
These included 17 on-site exhibitions, representing an 88.9 percent increase compared with the same period in 2019. Moreover, 44 conferences with more than 1,000 attendees were held, attracting 345,000 participants.
The Mangrove Tree Resort World Sanya Bay has hosted multiple large-scale events this year. The Sanya Poly C+ Intl Expo Center was completed during the period, with venues already fully booked in December.
The 2023 Hainan (Sanya) International Tourism Expo and other exhibitions have also scheduled events, expecting over 30,000 visitors during the exhibitions period.
Currently, Sanya is promoting the close integration of the exhibitions sector with other industry clusters, such as offshore duty-free shopping, yacht financing and the Nanfan seeds industry, supporting the development of the city's leading sectors.
The 2023 Boating Sanya &Sanya International Wine and Spirits Fair was held from April 13 to 17. It attracted numerous yacht design and manufacturing enterprises, as well as yacht financing, maintenance and accessory suppliers, providing abundant resources for the Sanya yacht market.
In recent years, Sanya has been using exhibitions as a platform to improve the quality of consumer supply and upgrades, promoting the inflow of overseas consumption, while striving to build Sanya up as the core area of Hainan as an international tourism consumption center.
