From Nov 13 to 15, the second Forum on China-Africa Cooperation in Agriculture, hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the Hainan Provincial People's Government, is taking place in Sanya, South China's Hainan province.
The forum aims to further promote China-Africa agricultural cooperation, enhance the agricultural development level of African countries, support Africa in achieving agricultural sustainability and modernization, and facilitate the successful implementation of the United Nations' 2030 Sustainable Development Goals in agriculture in Africa.
Under the theme of "Food security in Africa, forging a new chapter in China-Africa agricultural cooperation," representatives from various countries will discuss policies and exchange experiences to deepen China-Africa agricultural cooperation.
The forum will showcase and promote Chinese agricultural technologies and equipment suitable for Africa, providing a cooperative platform in the fields of agricultural science, technology, and trade between China and Africa.
Additionally, multiple sub-forums will be organized to discuss agricultural trade, innovation in agricultural technology, poverty reduction, and rural development.
The forum will invite agriculture department-level leaders, diplomatic envoys, the African Union's agricultural commission, representatives of the United Nations' food and agriculture organizations, and non-governmental organizations such as the Gates Foundation and the African Green Revolution Alliance from various African countries. Representatives from provincial and municipal agriculture authorities, research institutions, and companies in China will also participate.
