The 9th Sanya International Cultural Industry Expo kicked off on Dec 30 at the Sanya Tianya Haijiao Mangrove International Convention and Exhibition Center.
With its theme of "The wind comes from the sea, showing the world the cultural expo", it runs to Jan 2 and entrance is free.
The event is focusing on the protection, inheritance and innovation of maritime culture, with five sections exploring the "development history of Hainan marine culture". It comprehensively showcases the harmonious coexistence of humans and the ocean from ancient times to the modern day, presenting an exciting cultural extravaganza to the audience.
Featuring sub-venues like the Sanya CBD Cultural and Art Center, the Sanya Mass Art Museum, Sanya Yazhou Bay Science and Technology City, the Sanya Sports Center and more, a number of themed activities are being staged.
These include an ocean cultural tourism market, an ocean cultural theme New Year concert, a cultural and business travel joint market, and a maritime cultural heritage research and travel activity.
In addition, the event will provide a platform for the maritime cultural industry. Exhibitors, investors and financial institutions will interact directly – facilitating transactions and partnerships in maritime cultural products, technology projects and tourism resources.
The organizers say the goal is to position the Sanya Cultural Industry Expo as a key hub for global discourses and collaboration in maritime culture.
