The 2025 China Seed Congress and Nanfan Silicon Valley Forum, with the theme "Revitalizing China's Seed Industry, Rising of Nanfan Silicon Valley", is set to be held in Sanya from March 19 to 23.
"Nanfan Silicon Valley" refers to the Nanfan Scientific and Research Breeding Base, which has developed over 70 percent of China's new crop varieties and now aspires to leverage technological innovation to contribute to global food security.
Hosted by the China Seed Association, this is the fifth session of the China Seed Congress since its launch in Sanya, a tropical tourism city in South China's Hainan province.
The event will feature an opening ceremony, a main forum, and multiple sub-forums, including discussions on industrializing biological breeding and enterprise development, intellectual property protection, and technological innovation. It will also include field variety exhibitions.
Government departments, academicians, experts, and domestic and international companies will be invited to exchange insights on Nanfan's latest achievements and tropical high-efficiency agricultural practices.
Additionally, the conference will host specialized events, like the finals of the 2025 Yazhou Bay Biological Breeding Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, to showcase the new trends, highlights, and achievements in the seed industry development in Hainan.
