Following the success of its first event in York, Hainan Airlines continued its UK promotional tour with a second roadshow in Leeds, England on Wednesday.
The event attracted over 50 attendees, including representatives from the airline industry, city council members, student ambassadors, tourism ambassadors, and travel enthusiasts eager to learn more about Hainan Airlines' services and destinations.

Hainan Airlines General Manager Peter Han delivered the opening speech, reaffirming the airline's commitment to strengthening connectivity between the UK and China. He emphasized the vital role of cultural exchange and tourism in deepening ties between the two nations.

Belinda Eldridge, a representative from Leeds City Council, followed with an engaging presentation on why Leeds is an attractive destination for Chinese tourists. She discussed the city's vibrant cultural scene, historical landmarks, and shopping destinations, which many Chinese visitors might not have previously considered. She also introduced the city council's latest initiatives to make Leeds more welcoming for international travelers, including improved transport links and multilingual tourism services.

Francesca Pala, a China Tourism Ambassador and an award-winning student from Italy, shared her personal experiences traveling in China. She spoke passionately about her adventures in Xi'an, Chengdu, and Beijing, providing practical tips on applying for Chinese visas and how UK travelers can immerse themselves in the local culture. Her first-hand account inspired many attendees to consider visiting China, highlighting the rich experiences awaiting them beyond the typical tourist routes.
Hilary Farmery, marketing and communications manager at Visit Leeds, said, "We look forward to further collaboration with the Hainan Airlines roadshow and hope to attract more Chinese tourists to Leeds this year".

A performance of an ancient Chinese instrument konghou-the Chinese equivalent to the Western harp- added a unique touch to the road show, reinforcing the deep cultural ties between China and the UK.
Since launching its direct flight between Manchester and Beijing in 2016, Hainan Airlines has provided travelers in northern England with a convenient option for reaching China, establishing itself as a key air link between the two countries. As the third-largest airport in the UK and the primary international aviation hub in northern England, Manchester Airport has continuously strengthened its direct connections with China in recent years.
